Christmas Is Days Away . . . Will they all make it to Santa's Nice List in time???

Nanna made us this fantastic Naughty & Nice list to hang while the boys wait for Santa . . .

But will they all make it to Santa's Nice list in time? We will have to see today Lachie and Riley are there, but poor Bj is still on the Naughty list . . . however yesterday Lachie and Bj were both on the Naughty list, so only time will tell.

They have only a few more days to show Santa how good they can be otherwise . . . they will stay on the Naughty list and you know what that will mean . . .

That's right no presents just a lump of coal for Christmas

Let's hope they make it to Santa's Nice List in time and we can all have a Merry Christmas!!

The stockings are hung waiting for Santa (again beautiful stockings made by Nanna) but what will Santa leave PRESENTS or COAL . . .

Merry Christmas to all . . . Luv Mel & The Boys

Happy Birthday Riley!

It's December 16 and that means it's Riley's Birthday!

Being so close to Christmas we had a pretty low key event, with just the family getting together at Crazy Critters (so the kids could play and we could just sit back with and let the staff take care of the food and the clean up).

It all starts with the invite . . .
And some playing . . .

And a cool cake . . .

Everyone then sings Happy Birthday to the birthday boy . . .

And did I mention Riley LOVES cake . . .

Here is me with Lachie and Taleah

Happy Birthday Little Brother (If only Riley was smiling - would have been a perfect picture)

You all know Spiderman and some of you would know Spiderpig (Simpson's Movie) well know introducing SpiderDog (a present from Nanna & Pa - they made it when they went on their overseas trip last year) . . . A big hit with all the boys!

And don't forget SpiderBaby (how cute are these clothes!!!)

Happy Birthday Riley!!

Rebecca & George's Wedding (9/6/07)

I know, I know it was 6 months ago now, but I have had a few people asking about the wedding and wanting to see some pics (mainly to see what the bride and bridesmaids were wearing, sorry George)

So here is a quick snapshot of the wedding ceremony . . .

And of course Lachie & Kyle had a great day . . .

Playgroup Christmas Break Up Party

On Sunday we went to the Playgroup Christmas Party at Wriggle It.

They were really kind and opened the centre early for just our Playgroup - so we had the place to ourself from 9.30am to 11.00am.

The kids had a great time playing and enjoying all the party food.

Of course the guest of honour was . . .none other than Santa, who brought a special christmas story book and a candy cane for all the children.

Bj gets some hugs and tickles from Santa, while Lachlan poses for the Camera.
Riley was too tired by the time Santa arrives to get a photo - maybe we will see him again at the Shops before Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all the Cubby Kids.

2007 School Christmas Concert

St Bernardine's School Christmas Concert - 2007

Each year level sang 2 Christmas Carols - Grade One's songs were:
Rudolf The Red Rosed Reindeer &
Mary said Yes, Yes, Yes

Then the whole school sung 4 songs for the finale.
It was a nice night and one that Lachlan really enjoyed.
Riley and Bj enjoyed running around on the grass area with all the other younger children that did not want to sit and watch Christmas Carols for two hours.

The year one's:

Can you spot Lachlan?

Our Cousins

Some of you have not seen a photo of our Cousins in a while . . . So here they are Taleah (2) and Sienna (1)

Merry Christmas Danielle, Warren, Taleah, Sienna & Baby??

Photo Shoot - 2007 Christmas Card Photo

For the past couple of years I have created my own Christmas Cards for family and friends, and now it's kind of a tradition that I need to keep going.

Last year I used bribary to get Lachie and Brayden to pose the way I wanted them to (promising them some lollies if I could get a nice photo of the two of them). . . and that worked well.

This year, bribary was not needed for Lachie and Brayden as they were more than happy to pose for the photo when I explained that it was for our Christmas Cards. . . Riley however was too young for Bribary, and did not want to participate at all.

First, he did not like the Santa Hat on his head, and kept trying to pull it off. Fine, we don't need him with a Santa hat.
Second, he did not want to sit still, but wanted to grab the camera, so all of the shots had his hands stretched out.
Third, there was no way he was willing to sit on Lachie's lap for a group photo.

With this being one of the shot's I got it was not looking promising to keep up with my traditional family photo christmas card, however with some persistance and a little imagination I managed to get some photo's and create the 2007 Christmas Card . . . The finished product . . . (should be arriving in your mailbox this week) . . .

Merry Christmas . . . Love Mel & The Boys

Our Trip To The Science Centre

On the Ekka Show Day, we decieded to go to the Science Centre instead of the Ekka.

Lachie had been learning about the body at school and the Science Centre has a body zone with heaps of cool things for the kids to do. Everything is hands on so it's a great day for the kids.

However I can't seem to find all the photo's I took on the day (when I find them I will add in some more) but here are some funny one's that the boys think are really cool

Don't forget to answer the poll about this question (up the top right hand side of the page) . . . the answer will be given on the next update . .

Girls Night In

I decided to host a Girls Night In this year, Cancer has touched quite a few people close to me and I thought that the Girls Night In was a great way to show my support, raise some money and have a great time. In total I raised just over $550.00 so I was quite happy with that - Thank you to everyone that came along and gave generously.

Being the mother of three boys I also loved the excuse to hold a pink themed party - so I sent the boys off camping for the weekend so the girls could play. I have a few pics of the room, food and games but I got so busy on the night forgot to get out my camera to take some pics of everyone . . . Ooops

It was a bit of work to pull it all together but it was fun and for a great cause so I'm keen to sign up again next year and hopefully with the help of some friends aim for a bigger and better event next year . . .

The stars that decorated the ceiling . . . Thanks to Nat who helped me prepare for the night (I couldn't have got it all done with out you)

The thank you gift bags for everyone who attended . . .

My Girls Night In was actually a Girls GAMES Night In, so here were the lucky (or unlucky) whichever way you choose to look at it, contestant chairs . . .

We played lots of different games, here are some of the game sheets . . .

Games like quizzes, taboo, name that movie, finish the song line, I was glad to see that Michelle knew as much about Dirty Dancing as me . . . and Juleigh seemed to watch all the same TV shows as me . . .

Celebrity head . . . Thanks to Jill for getting me involved I was meant to be the quiz master with all the answers just watching . . . And after a long round of celebrity head I finally realised I was Britney Spears!!!

Yes even charades for kids . . .
Display of some of the sponsors of the night . . .

The table setting . . . pink, pink, pink

Everyone out did themselves with the food, here is just a small selection of the PINK food . . . There was heaps more, everything pink that you could tink of I think we had

The following cakes were donated by Stewarts Simply Delicious Cakes . . . They had mini cakes for everyone to sample and a larger cake that was given away as a prize (Congrats to Lauren, who was the winner of the Cake)

Stawberry tulips . . .

And what do you drink at a pink themed party? PINK wine of course

And this is the sign of a good party coming to and end . . . Oh well don't be too sad we can look forward to a bigger and better Girls Night In next year

I think everyone enjoyed themselves and had a lot of fun playing some old fashioned games. There were lucky door prizes given away on the night and 4 major prizes:
